Even if everyone agrees there is a problem, they are powerless to resolve it.

We, the undersigned residents and ratepayers of Wyndham, express our deep concern regarding the ongoing leadership crisis involving Mayor Preet Singh.

This situation has escalated beyond a political disagreement and now represents a serious breakdown in governance, workplace wellbeing, and public trust.

Our Requests

We call on Wyndham City Council and the Minister for Local Government to:

Urgently Restore Stability
Take immediate steps to resolve the leadership crisis and ensure Council can function effectively.
Ministerial Intervention
We call on the Minister for Local Government to intervene and stand down Mayor Preet Singh under the provisions of the Local Government Act 2020 (Victoria), whereby a councillor causing ongoing psychological harm to fellow councillors and staff may be temporarily removed to protect the health, safety, and governance of the Council.
Ensure Transparency and Accountability
Provide clear and truthful communication to the community regarding decisions and next steps.
Protect Democratic Access
Guarantee that Council meetings remain open and accessible, ensuring residents are not locked out of the democratic process.
Commit to Stronger Governance Standards
Implement reforms to prevent similar governance failures in the future.
